Gases and viscous fluids like most hydraulic, lube and other oils offer a low heat transfer when flowing through heat exchanger tubes because of the high film resistance. Though the heat transfer coefficient can be increased by increasing the fluid velocity in tubes, the pressure drop associated is high. Different types of static devices are used to "break" the heat transfer resisting film. Designing heat exchangers with the right turbulator configuration, fluid velocities, passes etc., results in higher heat transfer coefficients keeping the overall pressure losses low. Several types of turbulators are available. Selection of the right type of turbulator and its configuration is key in achieving the desired results.
Tube inserts are also used to delay fouling in the heat exchanger tubes.
We design extended surface heat exchangers based on proven heat transfer and pressure drop data. Our selection of turbulators, manufacturing and acceptance standards are based on our over 29 years experience in the field. All the machines for manufacturing the turbulators have been developed on our own. We consistently improve the manufacturing line and practices. We can easily adapt our machines to produce tube inserts of new sizes, configurations and materials.
